How to avoid ab(h)orts?

So my first casing ever has pins. Now I am getting a little paranoid that they will abort (abort? abhort? what is the preferred spelling here?), I don't have a terrarium, they are in a clear box with a clear lid and I misting and venting them. I read contradicting posts, some say they're caused by misting, some dryness etc. I need to mist them, since I have no other way to generate humidity in my setup... Any suggestions? BTW - they are about 1-2mm long white stems with a reddish dot at the end. Is that what they should be?

The best way to avoid aborts when casing is to cease misting once pins appear. You can mist the sides of your terrarium lightly after your fannings. That's all the humidity they need at this point.

Do not mist directly on pins! Just spray the sides of your terrarium. As long as there is moisture on the walls, humidity is over 90%. You prolly only have to give a quick misting every couple of days.

You will still get some abhorts, thats life!
