My damn cat...

I moved out of my dads place about 6 months ago and well the saddest thing about that is I had to leave my cat behind. Anyways, I've been taking her once a month for a week or so but there is one little problem....SHE EATS MY FUCKING WIRES LIKE THEY'RE TUNA FISH. Any suggestions on how to get this little feline to quit. Spraying her with a water bottle just pisses her off, makes her nervous, where she then calms herself by chewing on my wires some more. I've also heard the smell of orange or citrus keeps kitties away, anyone else hear this? Let me know your suggestions, before I lose another wire and lose my mind. By the way, I obviously already tried covering them up...she always finds a way. *shakes fist*

Ahh yes. I know what you mean. The warm sun, the sound of lawns being mowed in the distance, the jingle of the ice cream man down the block, and that wonderful burnt cat hair smell. Makes you feel young again.

it all depends how much you like the cat...you can get pepper spray.. I use it to keep rodents away from my garden. I'm sure it'll work on the cat too, just spray some of it on the wires..just a little bit

or you could give her some mains voltage wires to chew on running a heavy current - she'll soon learn!

Any decent pet store will have a few different types of spray-on solutions that are harmless to animals and will dissuade them from chewing on things. Normally the people who buy them have puppies -- puppies will chew on just about anything -- but it works for cats as well. A small bottle will last almost forever, too, so it's not a major expense.
If you don't want to cough up the coin for a specialty spray, really nuclear hot sauce will work as well, but that tends to get messy when the stuff begins to decay.

If you tazer the cat when she is chewin on wires she will never chew on them again.
There is another chemical that is a pheremone that cats use to mark territory. Your cat is probably chewing and nervous because your house does not have her familier smell on it. Spray this chemical pheremone around your house, and your cat will not feel like she has to mark her territory by chewing on everything.
Also, getting a few catnip plants and grasses that are safe for cats could redirect her urge to chew to them.
