A few friends and myself are looking forward to shroomin' this weekend. We'll probably end up at my house I was wondering what movies would be cool too watch. I was thinking Akira but there are parts that might scare the dogshit out of us so I'm kinda questioning that one. Maybe Fantasia I don't know. Any suggetions would be great.

You wouldn't think this... But Donnie Brasco is a fucked up movie if you see it shroomin. I saw that for my first trip ever and i ate 6 grams... Holy shit. Me and a buddy of mine ended up watching it 5 or 6 times on a loop and didn't even realize it until morning. I started thinking halfway through my trip that I was inside the movie as Donnie Brasco. Fucked up shit man. Fear and Loathing is also a good one.

32 Short Films About Glenn Gould The Kingdom (fucked up Danish trippy version of ER) I like to watch Woody Allen when I'm coming down. Keeps you laughing instead of being bummed. Koyaanisqatsi (I don't know if I spelled it right, as you can see it's difficult, music by Phillip Glass and absolutely fucking awesome. I watched it sober and felt like I'd tripped when it was over)

watched akira w/ some friends while tripping acid thought it was very cool espically the part wher the guy is in the hospital and starts tripping seeing bears come to life, but the film might be to much for some one girl that was there got motion sickness from all the fast movement of the film.

I though John Malkovich was a stupid pre-tensious Film student movie. Watching that tripping would be a personal hell for me. And i really liked the wall, but not while tripping, its too depressing. Rent "Naked Lunch" and watch it while tripping balls, you won't know what's what, or you'll totally understand it. Also ther is this animation movie called "Wizards" i want to rent next time i dose, i'll let you know how it is. I love a good animation YELLOW SUBMARINE ROCKS!!! best trip experience ever was watching yellow sub with shroom tea, on DVD Also Where the Buffalo Roam, if you like bill murray "Naked Lunch" ? I can think of at least two things wrong with that titleEdited by MeltingPenguin on 10/09/01 12:36 PM.

Do you guys think "Fight Club" would be messed up? I just thought about that, and I wanted to ask before I did it. It probably wouldn't be near as bad as Fear and Loathing to me. I bet that would scare/confuse/amaze me all at once.

my favorite trip movies: Barakas Monkees: Head (absolutely fuckin hilarious high. Don't watch it sober first. Many thumbs up) Alice's Restaurant These are feel-good movies. Barakas has some real footage which could be frightening but in the context they're in I don't think so.

(all mentioned are good) but if you want to watch akira you need someone to tell you the history like gangs, pills, etc. also found wall to be too senslessly violent for a trip. no one mentioned these Ravenousif you dont mind the "mindfuck factor" run lola run if you can still read (good for the opening to a fry) momento (havent seen it tripping but has potential) MICROCOSMOS (if you cant go outside- bring the outside in!)

Yeah, I saw Memento for the first time the other night. All I have to say is wow. Have any of you ever seen it tripping, though? I wonder if the plot would be too fucked up to follow. Maybe it'd be better to see it sober first, and then watch it tripping. See this movie. I'd say it's one of my Top 5.

"Psych-Out with Jack Nicholson... Its a story about a deaf girl who goes to SanFrancisco in the 60's in search of her brother who has sent her a post card that says "God is alive and well in a sugar cube". This movie has more acid than you can immagine and they do all the psychadelics.. The movis was made in the 60's and they filmed at some pretty trippy parties.. Lots of Drugs, Sex and rock and roll... GabbaDj

As a whole, the TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000 always plays movies that are fun on trips. Occasionally tho, they play horror movies, so dodge those, but the commentary is sooooo funny and the movies are so bad and fake I can't look at them the same afterwards.
