Just a few questions , Please read!

I was just wornder a few things, first what if you inoc. two different strains in one jar. Second how can you tell the difference between cobweb mold and mycelium . Third I need to know a good terrarium to use I have read about a lot of them what are your all opions on the matter.
I have a fish tank and a cold humidifier and that is all, maybe build on this on your help.

1. Why would you innoculate a jar with 2 strains? A silly notion... You will get 2 multispore cultures of 2 strains growing in the same jar...what do you think?. It is possible that you might get some dikaryote hybrids. Better perhaps to do this work on agar when you have more expirience.

2. cobweb is grey, mycellium is white.

3. Fish tank with perlite will work just fine for a newbie. The cool mist is a good addition.

I don't know about the iinnoculating or molds.... but as for your terrarium I STRONGLY recommend Perlite.

My wookie is using perlite right now and he finds that his 15-25 fruits double in size about every 20 hours, with no mycelium on the caps (which would indicate a lack of humidity). Best of all it's CHEAP. A bag of perlite can be purchased here (Atlanta area) for about $3.50.

I understand why one would do that.A friend recently inoculated 2 of 4 holes with Thai Koh and then ran out.He then inoculated the other 2 with ecuador.Its colonizing now, and it appears to be taking on the characteristics of the Tai (very strong).BTW got the thai from The Hawks Eye

well i was just wondering what would happen cause i am running low on two strains and thought it might be interesting to try. Ok on the terrarium if I used a humidifier where would I hook up the hose on the terrarium? I mean on the top on the side or what? How much water should I mix with the perlite ?
