WISH YOU WERE HERE.
One of the best albums of all time. Perfect in everyway.
Meddle is next, then Darkside and Animals.
Cheers.

That’s easy - Piper hands down.
As for post-Syd, it’s not my favorite but can I get some love for the soundtrack to More? It seems to get overlooked and dogged by critics, but I love it.

Yeah. Know every album. I have used a lot of the good drugs in my life. Going to see Rodger Waters in September in SLC and wonder what his set list will be like.
You never saw this coming but...
Dark side of the Moon by far. Saw many laser shows at the planetarium a ways back. Was always amusing people in line trying to hide how fucked up they were and just waiting for the midnight show. Plus is one of the top albums sales of all time, think it holds up.
The Wall. Hit and miss, double album of course but the movie puts it there.
Animals. Still makes me laugh having my Honda CRX and blasting it with my friend stuck in the back and that bass with those amps. PLEASE TURN IT DOWN! My twin and I still laugh about it to this day.
And yeah Piper. The only real Syd album. Used to get stoned and just drive on the backroads of my town listening to it. I WANT TO TELL YOU A STORY! Gnome. Love it.
And for the fifth and final one...going with..Saurcerful of secrets was great but atom heart mother. When I was younger and playing that when living with me mum she thought, something is off with this. But to me it is so adventerous! Through in drugs and knights then world war two from an epic song with Alan's breakfast to start off the album, I don't know the back story of it and who Alan is base on, but that is a relaxing song to start the day.
Is amusing. Mum was fine with that but when the Beatles and yellow sub started playing she drew a line. I know all of them by heart. Enjoy your Summer. I look forward to September and that time will come when it comes.
I could of seen them earlier in Denver but my dad talked me out it. I still regret it. But was fine with woodstock '99! No Floyd of course but concert as hell and not a good anarchy, yeah. It really and I mean really sucked. But on to now and looking forward to September.
Really, life is good. The M's and Z's is going to be a lot more rough for them as they age IMO. Hopefully not. Been through my shit. Didn't have google back then.

Like Jim Morrison said, I don't need lsd anymore. Beatles thought the same, it just hits you and I sensed since you brought it up with The Floyd, yeah I read history books on them that are of worth and not the garbage in High School and College, already feel my mind drifting into that space.
Will be interesting what kind of show Waters, the asshole of the group put on. With respect, just always has a grudge that made me laugh He will never get over the war and daddy issues.
R.I.P. Syd and Wright. He always hated the drummer which also makes me laugh. Never said why. Gilmore and his hands have failed him and is done in his solo career. Think Waters can still play some good bass and vocals though. On with life. Was always more of a alcohol drinker than the other substances.

Marmalade I like marmalade. Bacon and toast. Epic mellow guitar solo. I know it is different then what you are referring to but is just so peaceful to listen to in the morning to me. Is amusing to blast the sound of bacon crackling with my sound system.
I play some other shit from early Floyd and it freaks a lot of people out. But some get it which is cool.
That last song on the album you are talking about was like a ping pong ball bouncing around my head. Was on lsd and was driving me crazy but not in a bad way because my mind wanted to keep focusing on that fucking sound and the way they make it like it is going all around in one's head using the left side and right side of my earphones. Great work and tones.
Makes me laugh thinking about it. Been awhile.

Love the inflatable Pig story when they were releasing Animals. Floyd set up a phone line of have you seen this inflatable pig after, supposedly, who knows the cords broke and it floated around the airport and other places and family crashed in some farmers place. Where the farmer called and said your pig is scaring my animals come and get it. And the inflatable giant Pig that was floating through the air of England was undamaged.
That made me laugh.

Rodger Waters is coming to town but holy shit the tickets are so amazingly expensive. Just don't want to pay 300 to see it to get off the upper seats. Gilmore has retired and Wright is deceased.
Had a chance to see Floyd almost 20 years ago in Denver but my now late father talked me out of it for whatever reason and I regret not going. Strange enough he bought airfare for myself and my brother to go see Woodstock '99 and if society ever crumbles, that is what it will look like.
Might go anyway as this will I am sure will be the last tour from anyone from the original band. God Syd, why so much lsd? Read a biography on Floyd and he was taking it basically every day and friends were slipping into his drinking water and so on. I can see how overdoing it constantly can destroy your mind. Great book. RIP and Wright as well. Know everyone of their albums by heart. It is ingrained in me. Syd's solo work was garbage.
Anyway September. Going to go see it.

You def better go even though that is a farcry from the original configuration.
I'd say Animals is my favorite of theirs. Basically, that and Dark Side, and the Wall, and the other I can't think of are all great.

He plays wall songs with the military gear but with covid masks! Lol. Yeah. The original original would of been so amazing during that time talking Syd time. I can just imagine going into a club/pub and hearing this really strange music playin in the late 60's. But Gilmore was great as well. All of them are unique unto themselves.
Made me laugh watching a vid of the beginning of the Waters show and the words on screens and the narrator saying, "The show is about to begin. Please turn off your cell phones for the courtesy of your fellow concert goers. If anyone has a problem with Rodgers politics you can fuck off and go to the bar."
Yeah it will never be the same but still. There is still a great vibe to it as the older generations die out. Will be a lot quicker and sooner for the Z's. Just a joke but the world is not looking to optimistic right now in the long term.

Recently went camping, tripped and listen to The Wall for the first time. It was an interesting and fun experience. Love Pink Floyd!

It is worth it. Those that are life long Floyd and Waters fans. Some classics and some new stuff. And the stage and the videos they play, looking forward to it. I know all of them.
And as Rodger gets in his old age, an old master sharing his wisdom. Old songs and new and never stop creating. It is special to me and I am sure many others. Don't have to be old to get the music. One can tell it means a lot to him. Is not like he needs the money.
On to September when his band stops by. It shows the whole career through video and music and what he is creating now. It never ends.
My respect.

Animals. The first time I watched The Wall was 100x better than the second time.
For whatever reason, I always associated Pink Floyd with the opiate inclined. Great music, although it bums me out if I listen to it too much.

Waters on the 8th, one week. Been waiting a long time. Seen a lot of vids about the concert. Still different than seeing it in person from the highest level to the lowest. And yes I will pay 268 to be next to the stage. Good thing it is Mormonville and The Floyd isn't big here. This is not a drill I think will be the last one by any Floyd member as Gilmore said he is done touring. And yes he plays all the classics and some new ones and he still cares about the late Syd. I like Waters and Gilmore both but David said he just can't physically do it anymore and with Wright dead and just the drummer, as Rodger has refused to play with him for a very long time is kind of bidding farewell to a band and music that is in my top 3 favorites of all time.
I think everyone thinks it, should I have paid more to get a good seat or floor? Two of the most boring shows I have seen was in the upper balcony and on a lawn far away from the band and even a comedian far away. Best are right next to it of course.
This is going to be fun and then the Gorillaz and Albarn, more a fan of Blur but it will do just fine two weeks after. Looking forward to that level of production and set pieces and vids on the stage.
Is so great to have the world back to a somewhat sense of normalcy again.
Enjoy your concerts people and like food, never let anyone tell you what is good or not to you. In time you know. Same with drugs but really, I think most people that are reading this post get that. On with it.
The future is coming on, is coming on, is coming on.
