help! harmed cacti outdoors + wet weather
    #4177681 - 05/15/05 10:07 AM (18 years, 10 months ago)

hello everybody!
on this sunday i woke up extraordinarily early for my patterns and went out for some cool fresh air... when my eyes started to show me things i didn't want to believe...
i have a humble cereoid collection outside and there were like 3 (3-4 footers) torn down and one with a dangling pup from the top but in good conditions...
analyzing the scene better i noticed that was fruit of nothing less than a CATFIGHT - i found footprints and typical fur.
my question is... there is a very pretty peruvianoid with a couple tears on its skin, also i know there was some root damage (beutiful 4 footer torn down)... nothing MUCH but i want you guys opinion on how a recently wounded cactus can stand some possible rain - i have already taken cuttings of other cacti and it rained on the wound, what i fear most is about the root damage...
is there anything that i can do for it? i thought about putting plastic around but that would only promote good contitions for rotting... i also cannot figure out how to protect it's rootball... any help will be greatly appreciated!
nice sunday for everybody...

Thats ruff! can you build a plastic shanti? Keep it warmer in the sun and dry in the rain. Do you have super thrive or that maxicrop. Its good stuff for stress.
I would make a trelis or use some stakes to keep the poor thing up right till it regains a foot hold.

Do you have any pics of your collection?
