petri dish keeping
    #4180842 - 05/16/05 12:21 AM (19 years, 7 days ago)

Can i just keep my petri dishes in separate ziplock bag instead of putting ghetto parafilm (2" glad wrap) on it?

the glad wrap is very irratating

also how long does it usually take them to cool/ solidify

You can, but wrapping them is faster and more convenient.

>2" glad wrap

Use 1 inch.

>also how long does it usually take them to cool/ solidify

An hour.

Stack them upside down in the incubator and let them there for a week, nearly all condensation will be gone.

How hot was the agar when you was pouring them?

Let it cool down just before it solidifies, then pour. You must already be able to hold the bottle with the agar for some time, then you got the right temperature.
