Back from a Mush Hunt (TEXAS)
    #4180605 - 05/16/05 01:01 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Ok so i just got back from my regulAr spot and all i could find were patties with pins about 30 on each. Im pretty excited because im pretty sure they are p cubensis they even have a tiny brown center. Also i plucked one and pinched it and the cap bruised dark blue.(the stem was still clear) Any ways im not sure if were suppost to be getting any rain soon or not but would it help if i went back with a spray bottle and gave the patties a squirt. Im thinking that the pins are just going to die out because if im not mistaken it takes a few cycles of mushrooms for them to be good. Im going back wednesday so ill take a camera so you guys can see.
THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK.

yeah that sounds like a good idea, iv'e never picked this early in the season so ive never really seen them grow or in their early stages. They tend to be flourishing in early june.
