Puget Sound Fruiting Bodies ID
    #4180442 - 05/16/05 12:23 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

It rained all last night so i decided to talk a walk to my local park. Three houses down I unexpectedly found these beautiful mushrooms. At first glance I was elated because i thought they could be cyans. but futher investigation showed they did not bruse blue along with other many other big differences. Cyans or not they are still mushrooms and I'd like to know what they are. delighted after the quick spot I kept walked to my origional destination, the park. imediaty i went to the wood chips and found dozens of the familiar acrobe(sp). there were many different genus's of the speices and it was fun to look at them all. after retreving the camera to take fotos of the finds I decided to look in my own lawn, it seemed like mushrooms were popping up everywhere. To my delight I found many young mushrooms that resemble some sort of Panoleas (sp) possibly pan subs. I did not pick them because they were very small, nor did i check if their gills were black but i will soon. All in all a great day to go mushroom hunting in the pacific north west. The whole week is forcasted for rain and below normal temps so i think i might go out to the valley and look for some stunzi or libs.

-thanks for any comments, spelling corrections, what you've found in PNW and help on the Id!

Looks like a classic Panaeolina foensecii; thin long and shiny stem, gills hang slightly lower than the margin, hues of brown in the print. Not active, sorry mang.
