Ultrasonic Humidification vs PMP ?

Hey all, after the eventual failure of all 12 jars from my 4th cousin twice removed's first batch he's proud to say his second batch of jars is coming along very well. They were inoculated about 10 days ago and he's already at a very even 80% colonization for all 12 jars! he's using the PF Tek for Simple Minds approach with P.C. Equador. he would like to thank everybody on the forums, especially Anno, for all their help thus far, it's helped him iron out all the problems from his process.
He was about to construct a fruiting chamber and he is having a bit of a dillemna regarding humidification technique. He already has all the materials for the ultrasonic setup but he was reading some archived posts that said it did not achieve the same atomization of the watervapor that porous rock (e.g. perlite, geo-lite) did and thus did not provide good results. Is there anyone out there who is using the ultrasonic humidifier with good results? If he adds the 3 condensation chambers (coke bottles) can/should he leave it on 24/7 ? Or is the PMP a superior environment for fruiting?
Many thanks everyone

I've heard that you should use your ultrasonic 5x a day at 15 min bursts or something like that. Agar or someone would be a better person to ask. Perlite works well but it really depends on what kind of fruiting chamber you're using. If it's just a Rubbermade tub.. a PMP or perlite would work FINE... if it's a large setup such as a Martha or other greenhouse, then youd want an ultrasonic.

It's probably going to be a rubbermaid tub, 25 Gallons or something slightly larger. If the difference between the two is significant then the added expense of a PMP over the ultrasonic is not a problem. Is it alright if it is opaque, i hear just a few minutes of light a day is enough for the pins to grow in the right direction?

Forget the perlite, go with geolite/hydroton. With my first grow, all the little guys got was light when I fanned them, and everything went fine. Now I have a 75-watt flourescent on a 12/12 cycle (not that I really need it though) and of course the airpump brings in the fresh air.....

i have been out of the pf tek game for about 8 years but i am currently whipping up a batch to show how an ultrasonic is used for the pf tek. Until then here are some pics of the pf tek with an ultrasonic. http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/22133 http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/22132 http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/22131 http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/22128

24/7 with the 2 liter mist reducer. These were grown 7+ years ago , before all these new teks. I followed the mmg to the t. Perlite humidifacation came out abou this time and it sucks. Ultrasonic is the only way to go with cakes.

Thanks tahoe, i guess the ultrasonic's worth a try since the materials have already been procured. Perhaps a PMP after that for comparison.
