TiT question
    #4177380 - 05/15/05 07:49 AM (18 years, 10 months ago)

Hi, I'm havening a little but of trouble with my TiT setup here. I bought a submer heater and 2 tubs, them tied so the one doesn't float up when theres water, but I can't get the temp right, I have the water heater set to like 30 already and my tank is only at like 22 23 degrees C. Is this normal for the heater to be turn up really high, cause I think my heater is going to be max out after a couple more turns.

Nathan

1.) thats what your water level is supposed to be like:

2.) my heater is set to 30C aswell but maintains a proper 28

the proper water levels are important so the warm water can "circulate"
and evenly spread the temp, not just "concentrating" it at the bottom.
you can also add a little aquarium water pump to move the water around,
i did that and found it work extremely good.

The thermostats on aquarium heaters are usually very cheap you should always use a thermometer to tell the real temp it is set at. If you cannot get the temp you want at max setting you should bring it back to the shop since it is faulty, unless you are trying to heat a huge amount of water it should be able to handle the heat, even a 50W will do most setups especially if you insulate the tub with towels
