finally the album is released.
for those that don't know, this is Chino Moreno's (singer of the Deftones) other ensemble. I'm not sure how to describe it really... sort of dreamy-rock with a good electronic DJ element. and the vocals are magnificent. wouldn't expect any less from this passionate and mysterious vocalist.
anyways, i recomend the song's 'Antaraxia' or 'Ever' for any curious downloaders.

Out of respect for the Chino of old, (Adrenaline + Around the Fur!) I'll give it a shot... but I didn't really dig where the Deftones were headed with their last two releases, so something tells me I won't dig this, based on your description...
But none the less, I'll give it a shot...

Man, the deftones get better with every release. Chino has not lost a thing. I'm downloading this right now.
The first two deftones albums where really good. Alot of fun. After around the fur they became my favorite band for a while. But white pony was off the fuckin' hook, and the self titled album did a good job of takeing care of some loose ends, I think that album closed a chapter in thier history and opened the door for another, which is aparent in the progression of the album.
The deftones are turning out to be the radiohead of heavy music.

I think that White Pony definitely had some really good material on it... but that's about all I have to say.
You can have your opinion, and I can have mine... deal?

Can I get it online?
I don't really buy stuff unless it's consumable, ie - weed, booze, food, cigarettes, other drugs.
This is not always my stance, but until I get a job and a steady income It's all about the necessitys (and yes, drugs are necessity.)

I thought White Pony was a beautiful album and really showed musical diversity and creativity. Their previous albums were pretty bad ass and hard but I thought White Pony was their best release.
I'm a big fan of Chino and the Deftones so I think I'll head over to kazaa and see what I can find there. I think Team Sleep was in my town earlier this year and I think I had tickets but I didn't go
Good times, good times.

I just downloaded some of Team Sleep's music and it's really good, really laid back music. Kind of sound like Rival Schools. Thanks for the recommendation, I think I'm going to have to get into these guys.

Downloaded "ever"... seems to be pretty good.. I might be able to get into this. It's not quite what I thought it'd be like.
The thing is, I don't think Chino's voice does itself justice at lower volume levels. His soft singing is nothing compared to the energy he's capable of putting out when he's singing loud and full with intermittent screaming mixed in.
So it just kind of feels like his energy is missing when he sings quietly. I think his quiet style works well when alternated with his high-energy style, but I can't really get into songs where he just sings quietly the whole time.
Again, just my opinion.

Wow, I just downloaded this cd, and I'm suprisingly pleased with it.
I never really was a deftones fan, but this is more along my lines of muical taste.
Good stuff.

i got Adrenaline when I was in like 6th grade and got totally into it. i've been a pretty big fan of the deftones ever since. something about them... they are really powerful and upfront yet always possess this youthful nostalgic psychedelic energy thats swimming around underneath the rock. i dig the lyrics because they are always abstract, their meanings are obscure, and his voice sounds like it wraps itself around the universe when the energy is high enough.
well.. i could go on for awhile about how each of their albums effect me, but whatever, ill just say that with the evolution theyve put into CD form, they are probably the most inspring band to me, next to Tool.
i will definately follow all of chino's work until he quits

So i've downloaded two sepperate "team sleep" albums. One that I suspect is genuine, and another that has more guitar and drums, but i've still never heard it before. Don't know what this one is but It's not bad. It's chino, and it's got a few more songs than the other album. Good stuff.

One of them is probably the Unmastered leak of the album from last year... it's got some killer tracks. The version of "King Diamond" on there is far superior to the final album version... and "Death by Plane" and "Natalie Portman" are ridiculously good songs that should have been on the final album in their proper form.

yeah, it sounds totally unmastered but I think that helps alot of the songs. It's missing most the tracks, but shares a couple of the same, but they all sound different. and there is a few more songs than on the official release. I like both of them.

ever heard their track "Apollonia" ?
It's that song "The Passportal" that was on the matrix soundtrack, but chino put vocals to it. its probably one of the coolest and most original songs ive ever heard. has this really sonic keyboard synth with a really stealthy rhythm thumping under it, and the vocals are really strange, they catch you off guard, but they fit in perfectly i think.
definately my favorite piece from them, kinda pissed they didnt put it on the album
