single mushroom abort clusters
    #4174867 - 05/14/05 02:12 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

I am fruiting my cakes. The pins come in clusters of 7 or 8. There is always one mushroom in the cluster that grows full sized and the rest in the cluster abort. How do i stop this. My setup consists of a sterilite tub with cookie racks in the bottom that the cakes sit on. An ultrasonic runs a couple times a day to provide humidity and a fishtank air pump runs all day for air exchange.

I actually think it has something to do with the way the strain reacted to me environment. I just put some new golden teacher cakes in the other day and they already have fat pins that are growing out nicely.

I think what you are describing is typical growth.

But if you are experiencing a high abort rate overall, the problem most likely is insufficient air exchange.

Well i must have gotten some bad genes or something. They were equador and they grew skinny and many aborted. I have new godlen teachers in there that are fat and all but one or so of the pins are maturing quickly.
