cambodians : beginners luck?

... just wanted to say i used a myco bag and sporeworks cambodian syringe. i used about 80% peatmoss and 20% coco coir (actually i used two bricks of coco coir, and a bowl of peatmoss) for my bottom layer, then again for a top layer.
my first yield:(forgot exact number of them) 20-24 mushrooms: 12, 4-5" mushrooms and 12 5-7" mushrooms (about 4 were 6-7")- these seemed huge! fresh, it equaled about 12 nice doses, maybe more.
2nd yield (added another layer of casing peatmoss/coco coir) only about 10 mushies, but all giants! they grew so tall they hit the top of my container, all were 6-7" tall. 0.o
3rd yield: 14 mushies, they havent finished yet but one is 6-7" already. 0.o
why are they so gigantic? is that normal for cambodians? my friend said hers only got to be about 4-5" tall. i wonder if having no perlite/vermiculite has helped them grow grow and grow. i already am on my 3rd yield, and it looks to be about as large as the 2nd or 1st.
the only thing i've noticed is that the 1st yield grew the fastest (about 1/2 the time).
more info on what i did: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rue#Post4134245
i have a feeling, using peatmoss/coco coir provides more nutrition, creating larger fruits. that, or this is just normal and i'm just happy over it all hehe

there is no normal size.
growing conditions, type of substrate and other fators determine size in most cases.
there are several different Cambodian strains...not just one. this might be a factor...who knows.
I have 2 of the 3 Cambodian strains. One is a very small fruit...no matter what the substrate or growing conditions are like...and it has a slight greenish color to the fruit. The 2nd one is a much larger Cambodian strain...with fruits that reach up to 12 to 18" long...on horse poo.

Coco and peat are not supossed to bring nutes anyway... There are lots of factors involved, substrate, humidity, water ratio, deepness of said substrate... Some times they get bigger sometimes smaller even under the same conditions, due to genetics...
If you get something like this you are allowed to feel lucky (these are cambos too):

This was on rye, so they can get a lot bigger on horse poo fer shure...

Nice yield JRO.....I only hope my first casing coming up with Cambos has as much success!! I wish I was at yer house right now. My cakes with the Cambos' was good for the first.........enough for about 7 or 8 doses which my friends and I are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to ingest.

once your first yield is done, mix a small layer up of casing to sprinkle over the top (with water)...
that seemed to help keep things going. also make sure its aroudn 75 in your room
