Fear of Datura
    #4171611 - 05/13/05 05:50 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Ok I am growing this plant for looks only I guess. Reading on Erowid about some people having rather ill after affects on speech and vision seems rash.

Yet I am intriqued by the selling all your old friends. Hell, that is one easy way to see all your old friends.

Such an influx of negative experiences bot in Erowid and in here concerning this plant.

Why? Because the term "recreation" ,a rather eloquent use of a term that has disinegrated to "having mindless fun", is a fundamental cornerstore of the drug "culture" ("culture" although real cultivation amongst users is what is lacking!)

Have you noticed any reoccuring themes in the mentality of the people that approach it and the way people approach it?

This plant is a pretty harsh deliriant and quite dangerous if one does not carefully measure the dose. That left apart it is a very powerfull plant, badly misunderstood! Once it was the cornerstone of flying oitments...Today its the "poison of the teens" with rather grim stories of ICU and nasty nasty nasty mentality!

hum, I mean I tried amantis and I sorta didn't like the leaving my body experience or slight insanity feeling. I mean it was sorta funny, feeling insane but at the same time I didn't really take enough and wasn't encouraged to take anymore. I actually threw out the rest of my amantis ounce, to strange for me.

If  you do not like leaving your body don't touch datura. There is nothing recreational about it and it's rarely if ever "fun". Not to mention dangerous. Unless you dig the mind blowing company of astrall bodys and the dispondance of your awareness to your body, then datura in not for you.

id say the point of taking amanitas or datura is to see what is possible beyond what you concieve as real. so leaving your body is basically the point. you are insane.. the whole world is crazy even in normal consciousness. so maybe that temporary insanity is more like temporary lifting from the veil of structured insanity. into the realms of non structured insanity =)

wow brainwashing... neato

Sounds like working for a company and believing it in. I don't believe in Brainwashing as anything more then basic psychology. Perhaps the drug puts the person in a altered state that makes them more subceptable towards the practice but come on.

I can tell you that you are going to be a winner. You are going to lead the pack, you are the best. Follow your dreams, follow that hero, be somebody. Did you know that this is a basic form of Psychology? People pay big bucks to hear that and it makes them feel better, actually it makes them do good in school and everything.

Come on this is a drug, and it can signifanctly alter your perception. It is powerful and should be admired carefully as large amounts are quite toxic in effects. Then again, you just learned something new haven't you and now you believe you can win!!!
