Learning to be single.

I've been single for a little while , and I must say it quite the learning experience. Every since I can remember , I have always had a woman there to do things for me. I didn't know the proper way to wash clothes , how to cook & clean up after myself. I've got it pretty much downpat now & it gives me a certain satisfaction in doing so.
But I can say this with utmost certainty , I will have a respect for what a woman goes through maintaining a household.
Any other guys have to go through this transition?

No, I learned how to be a big boy before I moved out of my parents house.

IMO, it's not good when one person does all the household stuff or cooking in a relationship. I think its fair to share the responsibilities.

i was single for most of my life, never had a long term relationship till this year. she broke up with me after 6 weeks, the transition from being in a relationship to being single was very tough at first. she practically lived with me, made me breakfast in the morning and all that, then like that it just ended. i was depressed for a little while, then got over and i'm back to normal again. i definitely like not being single better, gonna have to work on that when i move back to campus in september.

Independence is where it's at. I'm a self made man, I don't need anybody to do anything for me, nor do I want them to. I've been let down too many times trying to rely on other people (especially chicks) so I just quit altogether.
Who do I trust? Me, thats who.

You had some piss poor parents if they let you grow up w/out teaching you the basics of life (cooking and cleaning)
I was born in the mid 60's and even my parents (mom mostly) taught me to take care of myself.

I feel sorry for ya man. Having to rely on the opposite sex to get things done that should be your own personal matters. I learned to do my laundry, cook, do dishes, clean the house, all that good jazz around the age of 11 or 12. I'm surprised you had a girlfriend at all, seeing as how they were probably more of a maid than a girlfriend.

Are you flaming me in the PUB?
I thought that was an offense.
I tried to make a serious post & I get flamed?
Is it my fault I've always had a woman wait on me , While I brought in the money? When I got in from work , I was tired. I did the man stuff , ya know , like cutting the grass & fixing broken appliances.
It seems most of you were house husbands.
