That is a good idea.. maybe you should narrow down the subject of music theory to "practical music theory".. I mean.. Once you master the basics of tonality and harmony, thats all you need.. intervals, triads, extensions, scales, circle of fifths, and improvising. Four years of schooling, and thats all i really USE.. If the point is to educate would-be musicians.. I think this would be more effective than long discussions of four part harmony or fugues, or so many other meaningless topics that fit under the category of theory..

I'ma gonna talk about the relationship between polymetric music and the mystical experience.

Look at an alternative way to think about music, not some theory rehash.
