Cleaning up a harvest
    #4169227 - 05/13/05 02:51 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Do all that use a 50/50 or 60/40 verm and coir tek for casing have a difficult time with cleaning the bottoms of the harvested mushies? Do you just snap off the base and chuck them?

You cut them off with clean(sanitized) scissors or a scalpel or you eat them dirty....up to you. Dirty wont hurt you as far as I know.

Rub it off after you dry them. Comes off much easier.

Do it after they dry like scat says. Its far easier than working on it while they are wet. AFter i am done with mine, it looks like a childs sandbox in my living room.

holy shit agar those are thick. My flushes have all been really skinny..but very potent. Do you think its my strain?? They are Ban Hua Thannon.

I usually do wait until they are dry and rub the coir off its pretty easy I just wanted to see what others were doing about the coir mess.

Thanks for the opinions all.

Would need more details but keep in mind agars growing off multiple inches of h-poo, substrate helps alot. And Key...REALLY...FRESH AIR!

Strain can do it too but generally, enough fresh air and substrate and you get SOLID shrooms:
