Dreaming my death???
    #4168305 - 05/12/05 10:32 PM (11 years, 10 months ago)

It was about a month ago, and i woke up from the most intense and scariest dream i have ever had. I was in a street standing in front of this guy. I have no clue who he was but he looked familiar, very familiar. He had a gun and he ran up to me and shot me in the throat. I felt the bullet tear through my flesh as i fell to the ground. I looked down and saw blood pouring out of my neck, i felt my body getting drained of its blood. The pain was to real! I remember thinking to myself that this is it and i was dying. I felt completely alone and didn't know what to do. So i accepted it, as the man walked forward and shot me in the chest. I then rolled over and started blacking out and i heard one last shot. BOOOM! I felt it enter the back of my skull. I completely blacked out and i felt like i was falling into a intense trip! The pain was gone. Then thing became clear and i was standing alone somewhere and i thought to myself "I am in hell!" and at that moment i opened my eyes and i was laying in my bed. I have no clue what to think of this crazy ass dream.

What it means is that you will someday die, and when it is all over, you will awake into another dream....

The Throat Chakra holds great power. Are you choking on your words?

The Heart Chakra is a resevoir of Life force. Are you letting yourself live?

The Cave of the Skull is the Vault of Mysteries. Do you think that you are merely your human personality?

*see hint in my sig quote*

The Soul exists simultaneously throughout all of Time.
The Ego merely exists now.

I had a dream where I was in a plane, but not really. it was more like a room with no windows and a bunch of people sitting around. then it started to spin and i could feel it falling faster and faster.

everyone paniced, and i braced for impact as i came to terms with the fact that i was about to die. the plane hit the ground and i died from the impact. it was weird though, because i just layed there, still conscious, thinking i was dead. eventually i just stood up and realized it was a dream.

i've had several other dreams in which i've died, and every time it happens, afterward i think to myself "that wasn't so bad"

i hope real death isnt so bad too

Death is prolly~ a lot like feeling the urge to vomit....
It makes you feel uncomfortable, and you don't look forward to it,
but as vomiting never "asks", you are somewhat forced to "deal" with it's IMMEDIATE nature....  :puke:
.
When it is all said and done you feel a lot better when it is over....
.
I think death is quite similar to that - HOPEFULLY, less chunky....!

Dreams are almost always symbolic. Don't take it literally.

You probably confronted your dark side symbolically in a dream. Thus the sense of familiarity. There is probably something negative about yourself that you're blocking from conscious recognition. It is trying to bubble up to the surface at night when your guard is down.

I once dreamed I was sinking in quick sand, eventually I sunk below the surface, it all went dark and I suffocated. Was quite scary at the time, although I can't remember what happened after my death.

I once dreamed I was in a car accident and was dying. I could hear the sirens of incoming ambulance car, but the sound was slow and distorted. I was slowly loosing consciousness and I remember telling myself ?don?t drift away, stay conscious, stay conscious!?, but I couldn?t. As I died, my thoughts, the sounds and images around me all faded away into nothingness.

After that I remember that I very slowly opened my eyes and realized I was dreaming. Although I am very disturbed most of the time by the wild nature of my dreams, I must confess I was at peace when I woke up from this one.

I have had several (3-4) dreams , over the years, of me dying. I think it just symbolizes large changes in your personal life.

Nothing to worry about.....altho they are kinda freaky and leave you feeling weird for a day or two.

When I was young I had dreams all the time where I died, I would also have really bizarre dreams even one about cannibalism... I hardly dream anymore though but when I do I usually enjoy them.

From what I hear if you get shot in the head you will never hear the gunshot. Not really sure if it's true and I don't think we'll ever find out.

This was enough to sustain him during the six steps of asceticism leading to his Enlightenment.

Traditionally, dreaming of your own or someone else's death represents the death of an aspect of your identity. When I was going through a period of intense personal change, I dreamed that I came home to find that the members of my "family" (in the dream only) had each been posed in front of the mirror in a different room of the house, then shot through the back of the head so that the bullet killed them and then shattered their image in the mirror.

i've only had one dream that i can remember that i died in. i was in a school bus going up a mountain, and the bus skidded on some snow and went right off the side of the mountain. everyone died, in my dream i was dead, but still conscious. i could just lay there and think, but i couldn't move at all. after that experience i thought to myself what if when you die you can still think, you just have no vital signs and people don't realize you're still in your body.

very freaky dream. i had it when i was in high school. one of the very few dreams that i had years ago and can still remember pretty clearly.

I'd have to agree with Jellric and I like the idea of death being like tripping.

"The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul, opening into that cosmic night which was psyche long before there was any ego-consciousness, and which will remain psyche no matter how far our ego-consciousness extends." - Carl Jung

You could be very correct, I have been going through a weird time, I don't feel like myself.
