I am a land surveyor for a construction company. I work about 65-70 hours a week. The money and oppertunity is killer for someone in my position, because i never went to college, and I just keep getting raises and climbing up the latter. The overtime is pretty killer when it comes to paying rent. I am moving out in 4 weeks and have 9 grand saved from only a couple months of saving, I usually blow my money.

I would like to do something better though, these hours are killing me, 40 hours does not sound so bad. I could easily work 4 10 hour days, and take 3 day weekends every week. THAT IS IDEAL for me.

My girlfriend is in college now, and wants to move to japan someday to work. She has no clue what kinda profession she would be able to maintain in a foreign country though, any suggestions?

I dream of a 40 hour work week.

but, luckily, in my field, payout is nearly proportional to applied energy.
