is it a waist of time to try to fruit slow colonizing mycelium???
its very slow to colonize in optimum conditions. it's not contamination and its not the grain itself. controle jars and a second strain prove otherwise.
Putting the spores in karo water resulted in myc growth but it was individual hairs and short. Not the typical mass of myc. that forms in balls.
The spores had to have come form a mushroom and myc is growing... what might cause this??? Could storage of the sringe be a factor???
Two syringes of z strain resulted in the same results.

yes, storage of the syringe could be a factor.
did it come from a reputable source?
if you can get it to fruit, it may well be worth the trouble, as the resulting spores could turnout to be a super strain.
kind of like corn seeds after surviving a drought .
i'd say go for it. and share your results. :wink:
