Browning Salvia edges....
    #4167532 - 05/12/05 07:20 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I just recieved a Salvia D. and it arrived healthy but within an hour of its new enviroment the edges of the stems and some of the tips of the leaves have started to turn brown and witherey. It should be noted that it was not in a humid climate during this hour as I was constructing a dome for it. I have heard that this is an indicator that the humidity is too low, can anyone confirm this?

The thing that scares me is the salvia growers guide says that there is a desease that lays dormant in a lot of Salvias and doesnt come out until its stressed (such as low humidity), the desease sounds like what mine has and is said to be uncurable.

Although I have extensive knowledge when it comes to growing tropical and sub tropical ethnobotanicals, this is my first experience growing this amazing plant and I really dont wanna fuck it up so any help on this problem and just general care would be awesome.

Thanks!

duh, it is called traveling shock buddy. Make sure the humidty tent or whatever you make has enough co2 and o2 or else the plant is starved for air.
