can I get spores from dried mushrooms?

i suppose its possible, but i would think the risk of contams would be much higher. you could try flicking the cap over some paper to see if any fall. or the risky way would be to inject a little water into the gills and suck it back up. i wouldnt try it, eat what youve got and wait until you have some fresh caps to print with.

IF one has a fresh cap then he /she could make a culture and would not have to go through the process of getting spores.

Much easier than starting with spores sinc ethe cap of the mushroom is pure mycelia.

Cuttina away a wedge and puting the wedge into a jar of sterilized grain will do the job.


Shouldn't this post be in cultivation?

Your sure can, along with every other mold spore floating around. Its totally not worth even trying it. You need to follow the standard sterilization techniques with a fresh cap.
