a list of simple questions

being somewhat new to the mushroom business, my pet mongoose had a few questions:

1. what, exactly, does "TEK" stand for?

2. when using shroom wizards method, he suggests using 100% potting soil for the top casing layer... would it be better to mix, or just curb the urge to experiment this time?

3. what are the benefits for using grains in the substrate?

4. has anyone tried using desmanthus illinoesis root bark extract in the substrate to increase the amount of alkaloids in the mushrooms? - he heard it works, but does not own tihkal so cannot read the reasons why...

5. what in your collective opinion is the best shroom for his favorite kind of trip (lots of insane uncontrollable laughter about stupid things (good for the soul ;^) and slick visuals??
