so ive finaly motivated myself to be a lil more self sufficient. as to obtaining spores.....other than finding somewhere to order, i have access to dried out fungus. are spore prints only to be done with freshies?

do you prefer the trip to emphasize the visual or the mental side?
Or do you want a good balance?
I'm not a seasoned conisure by any means, but I like my trips to be really heavy mentally, and I do know some excellent strains for that effect.

You can use a dried gill fragment on agar to get a culture going but you'll have to do a few transfers to clean the culture up as there will probably be some contamination..
If your new to this hobby your better off with a sterile print/spore syringe.

honestly....i was more or less wondering if there was a strain that was easier to grow if there is such a thing. or are all mushrooms just as easy as the next? i guess i couldnt realy say wether im partial more to the visual or mental side. i cant say if ive ever realy distinguished the 2 for the most part ive had some of both in all my trips. any suggestions on a particular strain that is one of the easier to grow(if there is such a thing) yet also one of the more enjoyable/fun/crazy/potent/etc in terms of effects would do it. =) any info greatly appreciated!

of course you experience both, hehe.
To make an example for what I mean, In my experience, Hawaiian cubensis really push the mental side. You need to eat alot to go to another world visually, but even on low doses they are really heavy mentally. The Amazonian strain has a tendency to make the visual aspect just explode, and Cambodian and B+ strains have a pretty good balance.
Of course, in a way, cubes are cubes, psilocybe is what it is, and this may be a totally subjective view. But from what I have experienced, there are some discernible differences from strain to strain.
But as for what is easiest to grow, um, any difference between strains is not prominent enough to take note of.
I wish you much luck in your endeavors.

they wouldnt last long if they were not very reliable, and wouldnt be here... sporeworks, hawkseye, ralphster, and a few others have been around for awhile. one of them said they give free shipping to shroomery members, cant remember which one though. maybe pm them and see which one? or better yet... search the sponsors forum....

oh yea, i dont know if anyone mentioned, but this is the wrong forum for this, try one of the mush cult forums for a speedier responce. A lot of people in the pub/otd, suprissingly, dont have any experience in cultivation, and the one's that are in the forums usualy wait tio jump on helping a newb. (or tell them to search the FAQ's cause all the answers are listed there apparently)
