hi, i found a mushroom in the mountains of northeastern oregon. i have searched everywhere, and still cannot find out what it is. i need to know if it's poisonous or not. it looks EXACTLY like a Psilocybe subcubensis, but instead of the top of the cap being brown/light brown, it is white. on the underneath of them have thick hairs that are like narrow-shaped petal, and they are purple. anyone have any ideas?

I have an idea. Two, actually: Don't eat it. Then, go to our hunting forum and post all that is required for an ID. Good luck.

DUDE all im looking for is some help. not smartass remarks, okay? im trying to figure out IF this stuff i have IS deadly or not, so i can warn others, and state my reasoning why when asked not to eat them. and they do look like Psilocybe subcubensis, just slightley different, i know that even the littlest detail is important when it comes to mushrooms. please, i have been picking/partaking mushrooms for years and have NEVER seen this type before. so please do me a favor, consider what i'm actually saying before being rude. i'd really appreciate it.

Don't jack your own thread, man.
Just post the ID requirements and hopefully your questions will be answered.

okay. im actually probably just gonna wait and go to the film store tomorrow and get a mushroom print. the place where i am at is not where the mushrooms are at, unfortuantely, so i can only give a not-so-accurate description i guess. my descriptions are from memory (and i have a good one), and from calling the place where they are at. it's funny how the favor for a friend can turn into something so complicated. oh well.
i wanted to destroy something beautiful

Psilocybe subcubensis is a sub-tropical species which grows in Cow manure and is macroscopically indistinguishable form Psilocybe cubensis. It is from Central and South America, Australia and Thailand, not from the PNW \ mj
