Trespassing on government property.
    #4159642 - 05/10/05 11:40 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Shouldn't trespassing on government property be the same as trespassing on public property since government property is public property?

 nice pic Paradigm.

I think that it shouldn't be any different as per the distinction made, however the reasoning for it being titled such is different.

Especially if you take into account security concerns in respects to (gotta love coined terms) WMD's, and their delivery systems.

Perhaps change the terminology associated with it? Call it federally controlled land for the purpose of national security . I don't see much of an issue.

It is a good idea to let every asshole into the white house or the pentagon whenever they want, because otherwise that ain't freedom.

Actually, there was a time when people were allowed to just chill out on the White House lawn. It does, after all, belong to the people.

Those evil fuckers, taking away a small piece of park land in the city, forcing people to go all the way across the street if they want to sit on the grass... all for their own personal safety.

Well, considering you get jailed for not obeying the laws, and are restricted in way of movement on government land, I'd have to suggest otherwise.

What about Area 51? We sure as hell don't have a right to go inside.

To a degree I think it is necessary though, I mean, if it weren't for the government protecting us all the time, then America would be filled with terrorists!!

I think the difference is that government property is property that actual government buildings are on (and the surrounding area) while public property is like forest preserves and city parks.

So "government property" would function more like private property and be controlled by whatever government agency or division is relegated there while a city park or forest preserve is your "public property" which, of course, is still subject to rules but it is generally open to the public.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie
