I know this has been asked a thousand times, but was unable to find it anywhere for my friend. He wants to know after you innoculate should it be in a dark closet or in a room with indirect light? We have seen conflicting info so far...thanks

In the dark. Ideal tempurature is 86 degrees.

Light indicates to the fungus that it is time to start pinning, and you do not want that while it is still in the jars. Keep them in the dark, but make sure to start giving them light once you birth them--they are phototropic which means they don't need light to survive like plants, but they use it to tell which way is up.

I use a white cooler w/the top cut out and clear plastic so light can get in......my question is why don't mine grow up?? they grow which ever way......meaning all different directions....why is this? And how can i get them to only grow up??
