OK to take Dramamine during a trip?

A few months ago I ate mushrooms for the first time in a couple years and was extremely nauseas. I wasn't expecting this (it had never happened to me before) and I had a really intense, bad trip because I didn't really know what to think. Anyway, I'm assuming this is because I ate too much and/or stupidly had fried, greasy food only 2 hours before.
Anyway, I'm a little tepid about trying them again because of how stressful that evening was, but just read that Dramamine and the like can help the nausea. My friends want to try them this weekend and I'd like to, you know, be confident about my ability to kind of guide them through it, so is it OK to take motion sickness pills DURING the trip if somebody gets the nausea and can't convince themselves it's alright?
Anyone have any experience with this and can recommend a good over the counter medication?

Yeah of course. I haven't smoked pot in a long time and none of us plan to (the people I will be trippin with haven't ever done anything remotely like this, so I want to keep the dosage around 2.5, maybe 3 for me).
Thanks for the replies and advice.

a low dose ("recommended dose") of enti-emetic pills or syrup can often alleviate trip nausea... & you can even take it a couple hours before your trip dosing... some OTC (& scrip) anti-nausea meds can cause sedation... (& "side-effects" such as drymouth, etc.)... alos, some of he antihistamine-type meds are related to the phenothiazine anti-psychotic meds (like phenregan & compazine)... & these may have a sort of "damping" effect on some psychedelic trips...
there are other ways to treat nausea --- ginger spice (tea, pills, or even candied ginger slices ("crystallized ginger"), or herbal teas like chamolmile (check out "grandma's tummymint tea" - yum...), or small doses of pot, or very small doses of belladonna (caution! poison!)... ~ oh, and eating wisely for a day or two (or at least several h ours, eh?) beforehand can help quite a bit...

Dramamine helps more or less with nausea from motion sickness. You want something that will help alievate an upset stomach. There are many different options you can explore to help with nausea. Not eating for a few hours before your trip will help. Making tea using mint or ginger root will also reduce nausea.
You may also find no matter what you try you'll still get a bit queasy for the first hour of your trip. Some people hardly feel anything and some people puke every time. But for most, a little nausea for 45 mins is very common.

OK I will keep this stuff in mind. Probably try ginger tea and have apples on hand. And drink it slowly, since last time I really stuffed it down.
I expected nausea, but I didn't think it'd last so I was confused and.. yeah, we all know what that can lead to I think I'll use this trip to explore some of those anxiety issues, but who knows? I think after last time, I am ready to just roll with it.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
