if polifill is in the holes of the jar and inside the terrarium, will the wet polifill kill the mycelium if it touches it???

well it could act as a wick and pass contams on down into the mycellium..if you rconcerned about it maybe spray the polyfill down with pure hydrogen peroxide...that should keep contams down, but i wouldnt worry about ti too much either way, also your spawn should be touching the poly, if thats the case you are filling your jars up to much, try 5/8th-3/4full
Peace

no what i mean is that i already have taken the cakes out and flipped them over onto the tops of the jars and already put them in the terrarium. i have already started using the humidifier. should i have taken the polifill out of the lids before sticking the cakes on top and putting them in the terrarium???? i heard that its bad for them to get wet so i was thining about taking the cakes out, pulling out the polifill and then putting the cakes back on the tops. does this sound like the right thing to do or do i not need to worry about it??? thanks for the help.

well I alway put my cakes right on the pelite becuase I didnt want rust from the lid it never caused problems from the moisture acually it made me grow some nice fatties at the bottom of the cake but I wonder if the top of the pollyfill(part that was outside of the jar) might hold some contams

ah yes, then you should take the poly out of the jar lids for sure, spray the cakes with water/h2o2 to destroy any contaminates that may have transfered over.

adding hydrogen peroxide at a 10:1 water:peroxide ratio will keep most if not all contaminats to a mininium, use it in everything you would use normal water for, IE: spraying/misting chambers and cakes, water in your perlite, and so on.
