So i was watching Fox News, and it was stated durring the broadcast about the person that they captured.
"We are hoping the pakistani's will take him, because they are allowed to go alot further with their actions than the US. We are only allowed to do so much, and sometimes you need to be rough with these people, get to them mentally through physical pain"
just thought that was funny

All pretenses have been dropped...
I wonder what the response would be like if Canada took a US citizen that was 'suspected' of conspiring against Canada and handed them over for torture to a country like Pakistan?

Who said this. So far the only person I'm aware of saying it is you. Kind of doesn't make sense seeing as how the Pakistanis were the ones who did the capturing and already had him. Sounds like a bullshit quote to me. Sounds like you might be lieing. Even about the watching Fox News part.

I support torture for the record as not enough is being done. To deprive the intelligence community with such a valuable tool as torture is very foolish.

Torture is not an effective intelligence gathering tool. Those being tortured will end up saying what they think those doing the torturing want to hear. More often than not, it is an excuse, a rationalization, for twisted souls to engage in sub-human behavior.

Have you ever researched the effectiveness of torture? From all the non-partisan research I've done torture is almost entirely ineffective at producing the truth.

From what ive heard, they dont torture them in the traditional sense - like the inquisition, or like saddam did with vats of acid and shit - as that would not give any good information. They break them down mentally and physically over a period of time with sleep deprivation, lack of food water, and other very uncomfortable methods. This is considered torture by our culture, but i support it as long as its for useful information and not sadistic pleasure. Of course im no expert on pakistani interrogation techniques, and i doubt anyone on this forum is.

Also zappaisgod is right about the fact that the pakistani's caught him.
Seems like we have to respect the culture.... for better or worse.... There are better places to try to bring around a culture change if that is in fact what we want to do.

Let's not hijack this thread boys and girls. I think the issue here is that nobody said this and root-ninja-tak is a liar. This would be all over the news if someone actually said it. If it turns out true, I apologize to r-n-t. But I fucking doubt it.
