I apologize for the piss poor pictures you are about to see but it was near impossible to catch a good one.
This was my ziplock bag and paper towel attempt: I think there are two sprouts in there.
This was my take dirt from backyard, sift it and grow attempt: Have nearly five sprouts in this method.
This was Miracle Grow in a dixie cup, although it was dumped on the ground by mistake doh: There is one sprout which looks good. The cotton attempt was a total failure.
I am wondering how would you move the sprout in the ziplock bag to soil? At what point would the move be safest, and how long is too long for it to be in there? If there is anything I am doing blatently wrong please tell me hehe.

You wouldn't happen to have any more pictures of Calea seedlings would you, I'd really like to see some good pics as I made the mistake of not sterilizing my potting mix prior to planting and now have to determine which is Calea and which is not(weeds!)....

That's how mine look, or at least the ones I believe are calea, there are also weeds in mine that look similar but grow faster and have a purplish color on the underside of the leaves. I know these are weeds because I've got some in my other trays, however the slower growing ones may be calea.

On my second attempt at growing Calea I was successful. I grew two different trays of seeds. One in cactus mix with humidity tray, the other in a sand/cactus mix with humidity tray & bottom heat. The first actually grew better, I used less seeds (50) and had 4 seedlings.
I wanted to show some good pics of seedlings because when I was first trying to grow these I had no idea what to look for. So this time I sterilized the soil in the microwave(to kill any weeds/germs) prior to planting them via placing them on the top of the soil like cacti. Here they are:
From my limited experience, it would appear to me the best way to germinate them is in cactus soil in a humidity dome, at room temperature(70-72*F or so), I also had them under flourecent lighting. When you get the seeds you'll notice that they are all in little pods, I broken them out of these pods and seperated them into pure seeds then planted them on the surface of the soil like you would cacti.
