drying idea
    #4152022 - 05/09/05 01:32 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Ok, while sitting on my toilet in my restroom in my apartment, I was distracted by the humming noise above me.  As I analyzed the air vent on the bathroom ceiling sucking air(the one that removes smelly odors that you can turn on/off) I had an epiphany that I think might work...

So, as you can see, this thing looks like it was made for this...obviously you couldn't do a large amount, but it seemed like a cool, very distcreet (you could put them in and then push the vent back up) way to dry out the fungus.  Or leave the vent hanging maybe even...or if not any of those, just put a box on that shelf about flush with the ceiling.  Let me know what you guys think :mushroomgrow:

Good idea. I think you should make some sort of basket you can just hang in front of it. That way you don't have to tear up your ceiling every time you need to use it.

two things i'm not clear on:
1) if it's a vent, won't it suck up parts of shrooms if they ever shrink to a size that can fit through the fan?
2) are you sure you want to dry shrooms under a fan which will be absorbing not only the water from your shrooms, but also those unpleasant odours that one is bound to generate while in the bathroom...?

Well the air is very slow moving, just a steady slow flow. And I keep my bathroom clean just like the rest of my apartment (and doing my business in my roomates bathroom wouldnt be any trouble since he wont be here for the summer). Also their is no fan visible, just a unit of some kind...it would not suck them up. Even with your questions, I dont see reason not to give it a try...I know others have these things in their lavatories, so if someone wants to give me their input that knows what they are talking about and knows what I'm talking about, that would be awsome. Even if i didnt put them on the vent, as stated before I could hang a basket or something like that. Just thought it would be a thought provoking discussion.

No body is stoping you from doing it. They were just giveing oppinions. I say as long as your bathroom is clean, and the fan isn't to power full to suck up some of the mush then go for it!!
