Read the Hunting FAQ but still few questions (Florida)
    #4150077 - 05/08/05 01:56 PM (16 years, 8 months ago)

alright guys, im new and this is my first post. ive never gone hunting before so im prob gonna sound like a noob but i did read the FAQ. i live in centeral florida on a golf course and pretty close to some cow pastures and what not. apparently its about season and the temp has been hot except we had rain last week. alright questions, i know that the cubes grow in cow dung so im gonna have to go to a pasture to look for those, but do i have any chance of finding any actives on the golf course i live on if i went like the next sunny day after the rain goes away? just a little confused of which mushrooms i should be looking for. thanks in advance.

Peter

you wont find Psilocybe cubensis on a golf course.

you will need to get into a cow field for them.

no, you wont really find any actives on the golf course in florida.

a long shot would be finding some Gymnopilus mushrooms

that's about it.

Gymnopilus luteoviridis grows from Oak tree stumps, in florida.

They are not easy for the novice to identify.

If there are woodchips on the golf course
then maybe you could find G. luteofolius or G. luteus.

There is already a poisoning report on record about Gymnopilus luteoviridis. Might have been in Flodia wwhere the poisoning occurred.

As always, I asked people to avoid picking orange spored or cinnamon spored or any white spored mushroom./ That is 99% help for you in not poisonoing yourself.
