teasing movies..
    #4147878 - 05/07/05 08:17 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I've seen a film on TV today:
A family drives on the road, mama, papa and their daughter, and a gang of bikers attack them, try to rape the mother, and take away the daughter to some...what do you call the place where horses and cows are (made out of wood)?
And they rape the daughter, and fool around with her later, forcing her to drink beer etc.

Then the angry dad comes along with a shovel, cuts the throad of one of the guys, beats the other and strangles him to death, the third one escapes outside where mommy is waiting for him with a knife and sticks it into his belly.

They family gathers around him to see his end

So what is the purpuse of such a movie?
First it pisses people off to the point where their emotions react to violence in such a way that they feel satisfied with the blood of bullies

It pissed me off too, and it made me feel glad when the guys died, I felt satisfied, but it didn't affect my mind, because I wouldn't be writing this post if it did

I'd bet the author felt he was promoting some kind of concept of justice or something

So even when there is no violence (story is fictional), violence is fabricated so that people get agry and bloodthirsty for "justice" (read: violence and killing)

That's not even fun, its a classic payback kind of a film, only this one is supose to promote family values I guess too

I know I know, we are responsible for our own emotions, but
the point is this author was counting on the usual mindset of common folks and how they usually react to such images, and it was his purpuse to make us feel glad they are dead

But why did he want that? I just don't get it, it's like tasing a dog to make it bloodthirsty

Come on Oldwood, Lay off the TV. Take a long walk far from people. Look at the trees, smoke a joint. Now see what you're thinking about. Geez.

and by the way, why don't you say that to Swami everytime he complains about something?

A) It's called a barn or a stable.

B) I doubt the scriptwriter had any sort of purpose as you suspect, besides to make money.  It's probably what's called an 'exploitation' film.  Exploitation films are so called because they exploit people's baser curiosities (horror, violence, or sex) with little artistic merit or production quality in order to get them to watch (and make the producer some money).

If you remember the name I'd be really curious what movie this is.

Hey who cares about Swami, I just think it's obvious what that kind of shit is all about. I didn't mean to offend you. Maybe it's a mystery to you and you need to ask. Forget I said anything.

Don't know the name, but it looked like a smaller TV-only production, the teenage daughter is played by that actress that playes the police woman working with her father and driving around in a convertable in that TV series named after the name of her character

As much as it may sound strange, I do care about Swami in some strange way, otherwise I woundn't respond to him as much as I do.

hey oldwood, I'll bet you're not the only one who reacts that way to swami. Should be explored in a new thread, I'll leave that to you to decide. Could be some good Fruedian shit come out of it though.

Hey, I'm male and I'm straight, and I don't like Jack Nickolson

no really, I know it is a bit arrogant, actually very arongant, in fact it makes me a sun of a bitch, but I feel sorry for him sometimes when he posts something negative about some loving couple, in that way I feel some compassion.

Hey relax. I was just teasing.

It's not arrogant to feel compassion for others, even if it was misplaced and I'm not saying it is.

I have no real notion of Swami except from his posts. If I was to take a real wild guess about him from those posts alone, I might conclude that he has a very big heart that was betrayed long ago, maybe as a child. Now he protects it behind his relentless logic. But I won't. :sun:  :mushroom2:
