3rd G2G Generation Then Clone

If someone was on their 3rd generation of g2g transfers could they just clone a shroom from it and create a new generation or fresh culture?

Not recommended. Senescence. Next time, save some mycelium from the first generation in your refrigerator to use later.

As Sheik says, it depends some on if the original culture was isolated or multispore.

Regardless, as RR says, it's not recommended. That's the standard advice, and it's safe to follow.

I do have experience that says the standard advice isn't that big of a deal to small scale cultivators. I've seen an isolated strain on agar noc g1 jars, expand to g2, fruit and then clone again. This was repeated for over a year and no senescence was noted. It's not the standard advice, just what I've seen.

So, do it if you need to, but I wouldn't advise it as the way to plan a strategy.
