Not all progress takes the form of monetary or material gain. If one ends his day in an all-around more benign state than when he woke that morning, having achieved a more genial level of inner awareness, then a supreme amount of progress has been achieved. Is this progress or its pursuit therefore any less or more valuable than material gain and its pursuit? I believe it to be an enigmatic question in the sense that the answer depends on the subjective lens of whomever the question is asked. I?d take solace knowing that my mind acts and reacts with the pursuit of this greater inner well being in the highest regard, but the truth seems to make itself stubbornly apparent in the form of my ever-nagging duties?duties that are perpetuated solely for the attainment of materials and their pseudo-intrinsic values. A dreamer at heart, a drone in play, i suppose.
