New to growing : Puerto Ricans

O.k......I know this may be a stupid question, but chalk it up to me being a novice. My PR print came with a note saying that rye was originally used. My question is this:
Can I use an preservative& sugar free combination of cracked whole wheat,oats, wheat bran,rye,flax seed and hulled millet as a substrate in my PF Tek jars for this or ANY strain of shroom? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just need to do it right the first time, ya know?

o.k....so yes is the answer.....but can I also the sterile manure/compost casing listed in the forum by Jebus2000 with this substrate or should I really just use 100% organic rye and follow his lead.I would LOVE to do this right the first time. I do not know the word FAILURE so please...by all means...someone ...anyone....don't just pass me by...I'm asking for the best possible advice BEFORE I start this project. ;)

my advice is to keep things simple until you get the hang of things.. i would go with rye berries or brown rice flour the first time... puertos are the best cubensis in my opinion so god luck...
