Spring Mushrooms in Colorado

OK, with the fine weather here after lots of rain (and snow) last week I decided it was time to go out for an initial foray.
First we have a Stropharia I haven't yet identified to species.

Next I found a group of Conocybe tenera (probably - I haven't done any micro work on them to verify).

I also found these odd Clitocybes, and haven't come close yet to identifying them to species.

Finally, what I was really looking for - Morels! There are 65 of them in that basket. The first 10 tasted great!

Happy mushrooming!

Well, what a surprise to see this thread up. I just got in from this evenings hunt, and it seems I have found those same mushrooms in the first pick. I'm printing now, but I'm considering Pholiota astragalina (Fr.) Sing.
happy hunting

Nice Finds Toxicman! I'm going to be in the Denver area in less than 2 weeks- I hope to find some morels because I've had no luck yet in NY/NJ! I look forward to seeing that beautiful part of the country.

Here's some more Colorado morels that we found today. I promised my brother I'd post them here. We went out to our oyster spot to get some for mother's day dinner and voila - morels. These are the first yellows I've found in Colorado. OK - off to cook dinner

The mountains here give us an extended morel season for the black morels in the mountains. They should be starting soon and I have found black morels in mid-August.
Happy mushrooming!
