Mist the perlite or pour water? Does it matter?
    #4142786 - 05/06/05 04:52 PM (13 years, 22 days ago)

Just wondering, when i started the terrarium i had been using a spray bottle and just spraying the perlite evenly all over, with the cakes in place though i have found it easier to evenly pour water throughout the terrarium... Does this matter?

the perlite should already have a 2:3 ratio by volume, 2 inches of water to 3 inches of perlite.

Soak the perlite in the bottom (or pour as you said), then mist the sides of the container to achieve full humidity.

when i used perlite, i would rinse that shit real well. when you rinse you load the perlite with water. then i would dump it in my rubbermaid, smooth it out, poke one single hole with my finger in the middle, and add some water mixed with a little peroxide til it was almost halfway up through the perlite.
