The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

those are some beauts

it looks like they're growing from half gallon pots, I always thought they needed a lot of root space?

Whoa had forgotten about this thread. Made it right before my computer broke, a few weeks ago.
I also now notice on my new monitor that the pics are ridiculously bright

Namaste, they were growing in a couple of 1 gal. pots. But you are right, they do need more rootspace - my yield was quite low. 12 or so plants yielded 11g of dried pods + 30 or so grams of stems which i made putty from.

That's more than enough for my personal use though. I find this opiate stuff kinda scary.

I can't tell you for sure as i grown different varieties in the same pots. I *think* it's the danebrog variety though.

Are they growing spontaneously or did you sow them? If they're growing spontaneously my bet is that they are somniferum's inactive cousin, p. rhoeas which have a very similar flower to that one.
