Has this ever happened to anybody out there?
    #4140507 - 05/06/05 02:58 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Last summer, I found this site and read all about hunting. I started hunting and found what I thought were cubes. I was in a cow field and after some unsuccessful trips, I finally found some, and then more and more and more. It was great. I went several times that week and had a nice little amount. They looked identical to all the cubes pics I have seen and they bruised blue. After I ate some for the first time I was very disappointed when nothing happened. I was told by some people that they had gotten good shrooms from that field before. After talking to other people, they told me that the farmers feed their cows a certain kind of food that doesn't allow active shrooms to grow. My question to you guys is, Have you ever heard of farmers feeding cows this food, but shrooms still grow and look like cubes, bruise blue, but are not active?

I was very disappointed and didn't go out again for the rest of the summer. Now that the season is coming around again, I want to go hunting, but I don't want to waste my time picking shrooms that are no good. Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt you found inactive cubes. You probably thought you saw bruising, or didn't take enough.

i don't think there is nothing they could feed a cow that would stop fungi and not harm the cow.

i can't imagine that tampered feed would affect the spores in such a way that the only noticable difference is the psychoactivity. sounds imposible to me, but i'm not wizz

^^^

also, if you find these same specimines again, and can't identify them against being cubes, take a sporeprint. purpleish brownish -> psilocybe

Alot of basic soaps are safe to ingest and are anti-fungals. Alot of farmers do put these anti-fungal inserts into their feed for various reasons, mostly to reduce trespassing on their property by trip-struck teenagers looking for a good time.

I did take some spore prints and they were purple.

So I guess that they were probably active and I just didn't eat enough. I ate about 1/2 to 1 gram dried. In the past that is all I would have to take and it did the trick.

Just to be clear, you guys are saying that if a anti-fungal feed is used, no shrooms will grow. And if there are shrooms, then there is no way that they can grow without the psilocybe.

Thanks for the info.
