azure germination time?
    #4139067 - 05/05/05 08:07 PM (11 years, 10 months ago)

Hey all,
So I inoculated some mycobags over a week ago with an Azure syringe from Sporeworks and still have not seen any growth whatsoever. I have used these bags before with Cubes and they work fine. The temps. are around mid 70s I even put them outside (no sunlight of course) to see if maybe a little chill (in the 50s) would help. Still nothing. Any advice?  Do azures just take a while or did I possibly get a bunk syringe?
Appreciate all your help,

give it a couple more weeks, some times they are slow starters, keep them at
70-72F and if you see nothing in 2 weeks, contact sporeworks, they stand behind
their products. also, did you shake the syringe well before injecting?

I appreciate your input. Yes I shook it quite well, the syringe looked wonderful...a huge cloud of spores when I first got it and even when I shook it up I coudl still see little clumps. One thing that I am worried about is would Sporeworks actually do anything since the spores are intended for microscopy? Thanks again!

my az print from www.sporeworks.com germinates in 3-4 days on saw dust/ bran. I hope this is what you are using for your myco bag. The bugs will run through the grain if you intend to use this for an outdoor inoc

Tahoe, know any links for outdoor growth in climates different than that of the azures natural location?

If it isnt viable for whatever reason, then its no good for microscopy use :smirk: Don't worry, shroomery vendors stand behind all their products..

Well I wasnt planning on a direct outdoor inoc with grain. I would transfer grain to cardboard, and cardboard to wood chip, then in the grownd. Does that sound ok?
Thanks

Awesome, I was worried....didn't want to have wasted all that money on bags and have nothing come from it. I have really good luck with outdoor cubes here (Check out my cambo's in pic of the month archive) This year Im trying some Orissa and B+, Im hoping for some major fruits. I think god is smiling down on me as well, my neighbors just recently got 4 horses and they give alllllllllll the poo I could ever need for the rest of my life. I will post pics as soon as I get some fruits. I really appreciate all of your input, you all are really helpful and dont mind helpin out a newbie. Shroomers are wonderful people  Thanks again!
