The Psychedelic NYU library

A couple of you may remember I've mentioned on and off (and maybe you saw it in the Shroomery News Service) that a little less than a year ago a member of the NYU swimteam committed suicide in the library. He was on mushrooms, and had gone to the top (12th) floor. The library has an open inner space and walkways going around it, and the floor looks like an MC Escher painting. Apparently he looked down at the floor and swan dove to the ground while his friends were in the elevator. He'd last said to them "I'll meet you down there." Here's what he dove into:

All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

My freshman year I kept being like "I wanna do mushrooms in the library!"

woah if i could get that place all to myself it would be great.
There are so many public places i wanna dose at but wouldnt be able to control myself infront of the people. The cosi place in coulumbus would be so neat. They have a water place that would just be off the wall dosed up.

Yeah I feel the same way...I want to trip at the Museum of Natural History but I feel like I'd get lost cause it's such a maze, and then not be able to control my hysterical laughter at all the dinosaur bones.

All the talk at NYU was about tragedy...bullshit. I bet that kid died in bliss. I bet the swimmer in him took over his entire soul and all he wanted to do was dive into that beautiful floor and I bet the closer he got the clearer everything became to him and death was sweet.

Finally. Those only took 2 weeks to get up.
living in the city with everything in close proximity must make you lazy!
that floor is insane. i wonder how long before they paint it matte black or something depressing....

hey robot, one day down the road we will trip at the museum of natural history and if our hysterical laughing gets out of hand, we will say "why are you trying to stop us from smiling on a cloudy day?"

And then we'll go for a swim in the Hall of Ocean Life.
That'd be hilarious, a couple of kids dosed on acid walking around as if they were swimming.

I would laugh my ass off if I saw that.
Nowadays, they'd probably arrest you as terrorists or something...

man half the kids at NYU are 'socialists' know why that is? that's cause mommy and daddy give them thousand dollar a month allowances and they don't really understand what it means to work for a living. a lot of them, maybe not all of em but they're real spoiled.

Trust-fund hippies piss me off. Whenever anyone asks me how I get any of the things I get, I never avoid telling them that my dad pays for my apartment and gave me the computer I'm typing on now. But I graduate next week, and I'm *snip* cut off.

You graduate next week? That's pretty cool, congrats! What did you major in?
