First timer with a couple urgent questions...

Here's the situation... It's my wookie's first time growing. He got the Treasure Coast strain from sporeworks (mad props to them for SERIOUSLY fast turnaround and a very fresh syringe) and followed a combination of PF and the MMGG. It's been about 22-23 days now (He used a substrate of BRF and verm).

He goes to check the jars today, and 5 out of the 7 have pins! Like, LARGE pins mostly near the dry verm. layer (I turned the cakes upside down to speed colonization). Problem is the jars are only about 85-95% colonized.

So here's my question... should he go ahead and birth them as-is today (one he will definitely because it's almost completely colonized), should he cauterize the uncolonized areas, or should he just leave them in the jars and possibly risk those nice little pins?

My other question is this... a couple of the jars have bluish areas on the mycelium where they've pulled away from the jar surface... could this just be bruising (haven't noticed a smell)?

The same thing happened to me recently with a different strain. What I did was birth the entire jar into a terrarium. I had shrooms growing invitro, as well as popping out the top verm layer. Awesome double flush.
The blue is bruising, nothing to worry about.

Incubate in the dark?? I recentally had Puertos Pinning in total darkness at colonisation temps like absolute mad - some as little as 30% colonised... weird shit!! i cased the 90%+ ones, and left the others for a week as they were still colonising as they pinned...
