FLA: Two Species found today [PICS]
    #4133044 - 05/04/05 02:15 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

This first one is a type of Russula.
Which exact species i am unsure of:

I found them growing scattered in some leaf-litter,
underneath an Oak tree.

And this second one i am unsure of its identity,
Possibly Collybia?
-or Xeromphalina maybe:

I found them growing in clusters in the grass,
underneath a Sycamore tree.

Keep shroomin
(It has been raining all day long!),
GG

Nice stuff.

Of course, Russulas cannot be accurately identified to species without a microscope (except for a very few very distinctive species).

The second ones sure suggest Collybia (or one of the nearby genera) to me, too. Another possibility (that would be easier to see in person than in a photo) would be Laccaria.

Happy mushrooming!

I agree on the Russulas, need one DAMN good description to id that. A spore print alone wont cut it.
Even then only a few people at the shroomery could give you an accurate ID off the top of their heads.
