Is this overlay???
    #4132491 - 05/04/05 12:23 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

WBS on H poo, cased with a thin layer of 50/50 coco coir/verm.
After cased transferred from 27*C to 21*C with 12/12 light.

Some of the trays are looking pretty strange, I believe it's the infamous overlay... can anyone confirm my suspicion?

Thanks

Junka

The second pic looks OK. The others do apear to be in different stages of overlay.

you should have fruited your casings sooner.

as soon as the mycelium just starts to break the surface of the casing layer...it should be put into the fruiting chamber.

now you have mycelium all over the top of your casing layer and it will mess up your pin set.

Well, anything I can do now to save them?
What if I add another layer of casing?

This first layer was very thin, like 2mm. I did that so that I wouldn't have to wait, I added the casing layer, letf them 1 more day @ 27*C then transfered to fruiting.
I guess I should've made the casing layer not so thin...

Especially using a 50/50 coir verm. mix. Mycelium has a habit of tearing through coir.
Good Luck.

Would it hurt if I scratched and added another thin layer of casing?
Any other suggestion?

I hate being a noob...

My consolation is that I know that I will learn from these f*** ups

Thanks for the help my friends

I would add more casing, but wouldn't scratch.  I like to have at least 1/2" of casing when using coir, as it is colonized very quickly... GL bro :stoned:

either scratch it and put more casing material on top.

or just put more casing material on top.

or just let it fruit.

you have to decide.

i wouldnt let it fruit. most of them are overlayed, and overlay makes myc chunky and rock hard. just cover it with a thin layer of moist verm and you should be fine.
