So today I'm getting some poo.. cow or horse.. dunno what's in store for me yet. BUT, I was wondering.. for those of you that go out and procure your own poo... what's the best way to do so?? Just look for a farm that has poo already sitting by the fences /road.. or go ask the farmer??
I definately need some help here,

i would tend to ask the farmer and even offer him money if it makes or breaks the deal, cuz u dotn want him tot hink ure vandalizing and end up chasing u with his shot gun

after drying it put it in the plastic tote of ure choice or a wheel barrow or sumthing but make sure u dry it first on a tarp in the sun

Yea I was gonna go and check out some fields for shit, but I have no room to work with it. I live in an apartment lol.
So to solve this dilemma I ordered some Tenn Stud 50/50 mix, and it should be here on Monday....ready to use. Can't wait till my cakes are done colonizing!

I've lived on a farm for the majority of my life and I can tell you that 7 out of 10 times if you just ask you will receive, but there is that off chance you'll get ole' grumpy guss and he wont be so keen on your intentions,. anyways, liberate the poo it's ready to be taken.

Well, I didn't find it on that site but Onetimes 'free poo via internet' gave me a good idea. Check the local "free classifieds" papaer that is also online. And.. I found:
"GARDENERS: Free horse manure. You haul/ easy access"
YES!! I called the lady.. and whamo'! 3pm today she's gonna have it all ready for me. That rocks.

Just go up and ask. No one is going to be suspicious of you taking shit off their hands, I can pretty much guarantee that. The farmers I've spoken too told me that they get people who come by weekly for loads of manure for their tomato gardens, etc.
But, sneaking around and acting suspicious can get you in trouble in any circumstance.

Yeah, the are most likely happy you are doing it. If you dont do it they have to dig it up themselves and put it in a compost pile.

This is some seriously simple stuff here guys! If you don't have a truck, bring the largest rubbermade that you can find (That fits in your car), might want to bring a shovel too, although he'll probably have one you can use. Go up to the door and ask them if they can spare some manure for your garden, if they ask how much, tell them a few shovelsfull. If they get into asking about your garden, just say that it's your parents, that you don't know much about it and that you are just the errand boy for the day. don't be suspicious, the likelyhood that the farmer is going to think that you are using the material for anything illegal is almost non existant. These guys are used to manure being around and are aware of it's excellent fertilization potential. Don't worry! Go ask them!
