    #4131481 - 05/04/05 08:18 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I was hoping for some kick ass site or a forum where glass blowers socialize! Peace Rudiger420 :mushroom2:

Actually corning is not tooo far from where I live. I've been in there glass museum and bought a few things. Once in a while they have a trailer hooked up with everything in it and they travel and show at huge events. Fun to watch. Can't wait to start blowing glass myself! Rudiger420

i'm in the same boat... zippos blows glass, and he started a glass blowing thread in the pub.

here is some of the sites i've been going to:
http://www.glass-supply.com/

http://www.glassblower.info/links.html

http://www.glasscraftinc.com/index.cfm

http://www.generationsglass.com/index.html

http://www.glassnotes.com/index.html

now all i need is a job so i can set a studio up...

I have my RedMax torch, regulators, glass, tools, etc.. I move to my new place this month and ill let you know how it goes.   I have the humboldt films complete dvd set and it has taught me a shitload.  Since I have already learned from them, im gonna sell it for a little less than i bought it for.  Let me know if you are interested (they are a little expensive, but totally worth it).

I found this excellent book, considered the glassblower's bible. Author Bandu Scott called contemperory lampworking ed. 3 a 2 volume set. And yeah by the time you get done reading it, you have all the knowledge to blow whatever you want! There is even pictures of glass pipes in there but the real interesting stuff in much crazyer. A tower of wover glass with a peromid of tri color inside. Holy shit, how did he make that without fucking up. You got to read it. Peace Rudiger420

Look up the nearest art and design college near you. Check to see if they offer courses for life long learning. At the Columbus College of Art and Design you can take courses. I am taking it as an elective next year.
