pressure cooker necessary?

I want to try the MMGG, is a pressure cooker necessary, or will boiling water in a covered pot work? I don't want to mess up my grow by not disinfecting correctly. Thanks for the help

mmgg says a covered pot is fine- though not as foolproof as with a pc. it (and conventional wisdom) also says be sure to use a cloth or something to lift the jars off the bottom, dont let water splash into the jars, and dont use too little water or your jars can crack.

If you REALLY can't afford a pc, then boiling works...sometimes. Otherwise splash out on a pc. You'll make good on the investment in a while, by not having to chuck out half of your jars.
